Place a bid
My wife and I are selling our two bedroom two bathroom timeshare at Marriott's Oceanwatch Villas in Myrtle Beach, SC (deeded, floating silver season, ocean view). The villa sleeps 8. The description via Marriott is below: We spent a week in the villa last year with our parents, sister and brother-in-law, and niece and nephew. The accomodations were comfortable. The Hard-Rock amusement park (first in the country) was under construction last year and I believe opened this year. No need to tell anyone Myrtle Beach is the golf capital of the world. Marriott timeshare can be deposited/exchanged in with Interval. We exchanged for Aruba this year with no problems. We are listing our timeshare for sale because we are looking to change our home resort to Aruba. Please contact me with any questions and I will do my best to answer. Any costs associated with closing is the responsibility of the buyer (Typical closing costs approximate $500). A 10% deposit of the winning bid is required within 3 days of the end of the auction. Marriott has the first right of refusal (meaning Marriott can purchase the timeshare at the agreed upon price) before it can be
sold to the winning bidder. We will not know until they are presented
with the winning bid (usually handled by the closing company ) and then
Marriott must decide within 30 days, usually less, I believe. I purchased this timeshare last August ('07) for approx. $17,500 plus closing. Currently the same timeshare is selling for approximately $18,500. The cheapest listing (only a few if you can find one) that I was able to find on the internet for a resale of the "silver season" at the same resort was $15,900. Q:
Can you choose your week each year as long as it is between the dates you listed? I would prefer the fall dates.
A:
You can choose any week
each year that falls in the silver season. The silver season has dates
in September through December (when you log in all the weeks that are
available show up on a calendar), as well as weeks listed in my answers
to other questions. Purchasing a "season" or "level" in this case
"Silver" allows far more flexibility then purchasing a week that is
static every year
Q:
Hi,
does Marriott allow a week-split on this property. I know some of the
properties allow a 3 day / 4 day split of the week. Please advise,
thanks.
A:
The Oceanwatch property
allows the 7 day vacation to be broken down into two seperate
"mini-vacations"; a 3 day "mini-vacation" and a 4 day "mini-vacation".
The 3 day "mini-vacation" check in day is on a Friday and the 4 day
"mini-vacation" check in is on a Monday
Q:
What
are the specific weeks for this floating "Silver" season? Are the 2008
maintenance fee's paid and current. Can the new owner use in 2008 or is
the first year's usage in 2009. Is your title free of any debt owed on
your original purchase?
A:
The 2009 silver season
dates are from January 30th through March 1st and September 11th
through December 6th. The 2008 maintenance fee's are paid and current.
The 2009 maintenace fees are billed in November. The first year's usage
is 2009. The title is free of debt.
Q:
What are annual dates of use? ie. January to February 15th? Also, is the unit oceanview, gardenview, or oceanfront?
Thanks
A:
The 2009 silver season
dates are from January 30th through March 1st and September 11th
through December 6th. The villa is oceanview. You do have the
possibility of exchanging the unit with interval (even exchange back to
different dates at your home resort, subject to availability) |
