I have taken a personal interest in discovering whatever I could about Halley and the lot for sale and would like to share it what I have discovered with you.One of the parent counties of Desha County is Chicot County and as you can see from the maps above Desha fits neatly into Chicot like a piece in a puzzle. The town of Halley zip code is 71638, the zip code of Dermott, Ar where I am told the mail is delivered from.The lot size is large, just about a 1/4 acre. 140 x 75 feet (10,500 square feet of land). When I spoke with the assessor recently she said the taxes are current and no liens or special improvements are owed on this lot. She also told me that you can put anything you like on the lot. It is open zoning and there are houses in this subdivision with people living in these houses. There is city water and sewer and electricity at street.There is a railroad that runs North and South immediately east of the lot as you will see on the plat. I could not procure the name of the railroad from the assessor but it may be Union Pacific. One of the women working in the assessor's office lives in Halley.This lot is located off Highway 35/159 and one way to get there is by Randy Terry lane. You could also take 65 North to get there and go east to Halley.The title is free and clear, taxes are paid and current and no special improvements or liens exist as this has been checked by us with the County assessor.Zoning is residential zoned A. Small homes and mobile homes are permitted. There are no association fees or association and there is no time limit to build.
